This environment is for our  fifth scene in the animation. It takes place in the construction site and will involve our distracted character walking onto the site lift thinking it is his offices lift. I made it in Blender

I made this rigged character from scratch using box modeling to Ensure I had nice topology for animating and to keep the character within our stylized design. The characters rig consists of bones which use weight painting to move and bend parts of the model, and other bones which guides drivers to adjust shape key values. This is how I can control a majority of the characters face and also have traditional IK joints. I plan on duplicating him to change some of the characteristics to get more people in the scene

This is the first environment concept art I made for the project. I felt it ended up looking visually unappealing due to the mix of styles and online sourced assets. because of this I wanted to rethink the style for the animation in a way which would let our team have more control in creating the assets.

this is the second scene i made to concept our project. this time i wanted to make it more stylized and make the shading flatter. I believe this was successful in giving me and my team a new plan and style to use for our animation. some of the assets are from Megascans. Because of this style change we are able to create all the tralers assets by hand. ensuring it fits within our style and is good quality

Face Rig Demo

this is a demonstration of my character's face rig. it has a wide range of controls for dynamic movement in our animation. to make the face rig I used a mixture of shape keys and weight painting

This is an instance of how animation on 2s looks compared to 1s. I set up the scene so that me and my team could look into different styles for our animation. Using Mixamo's tools to apply a walk cycle to my rig and then baking out the animation on 2s we could look at both side to side  We came to the conclusion that animating on 2s for our animation is a effective way to impart a sense of weight and stylization to the animation and would also help us complete the animation within the time brief we plan on using adobes Mixamo animation library to help with some of the shots. we will still hand animate the face for close up shots and the body for shots which need more attention.

The main problem we face is animating on 2s while keeping in the projects 25 frames a second brief. I beleve i can solve this by still running it on 2s but just at 25 fps. this would slightly speed up playback but should not make much of a diffrence

Brick pile 10/04/2023

I have animated the left hand side for scene 5 using frame by frame animation. the animation features a hand of the office worker reaching to scan his card on a pile of bricks. this would convey to the audience that he has mistakenly walked into the construction site. for the right hand side I plan on using a Mixamo animation to show out character walk onto the site lift which I will slightly manipulate to fit into the scene. I made the pile of bricks model using Cinema4d to block out the model and z brush to add details

For this animation I used a animation on Mixamo for the characters body to get a life like look over the shoulder and then i animated his face using my own rig to give him character. I then parented my animation of his head to the Mixamo's animated body
